Antique BGI Co Police whistle. Nickel plated "escargot" style whistle with its
original jump ring as well as the original cork pea. Marked "B.G.I. CO ECHO
620" on both sides and a patent date of May 23, 1893 on the top.

The Bridgeport Gun Implements company was formed by Marcellus Hartley in
February 1878. The company starting manufacturing whistles in the shape of
rifle cartridges for hunters. The 620 escargot style whistle was first produced
in the late 1800s

Dimensions are: 1 1/2" long x 1" wide x 7/8" high....weighs 20 grams

In great condition.....clean with a light patina. Some light wear in the
edges. In working condition.
