My other half, Gary Miller, is a songwriter and musician. It took him ten
years in all to write all of the songs for 'Mad Martins'. It's an astonishing
piece of work, and I was privileged to be able to design the accompanying book
last year, itself taking nine months to complete (there was a LOT of research).
The Martin brothers are so very interesting, each one hugely charismatic in his
own 'mad' way. The album and book have enjoyed amazing reviews in various
magazines and on music websites across the world. I feel very proud to be able
to add it to my Etsy shop! You can read all about how the project came to be,
and check out the music and reviews, on the website at www.mad-martins.co.uk
but here's a brief description:
"Mad Martins is a unique performance, recording and book project featuring
original songs, poetry and spoken word narration depicting the extraordinary
lives and times of the notorious Martin Brothers, William, Jonathan and John,
who were born in the late Eighteenth Century in the South Tyne area of
Northumberland. Eldest brother, William was the self-styled "Philosophical
Conqueror of All Nations". Jonathan Martin has gone down in history as "the
notorious incendiary" of York Minster. John, the youngest, was, like his
brother William, an ‘all-rounder’, devising sewage schemes for London, along
with a number of other inventions but is most famous for his epic New Romantic
paintings of Biblical scenes.
Etsy customers will recieve a complimentary 'Fair Flowers Among Them All' (The
Mad Martins Instrumentals) CD, (with cover artwork by me - see if you can spot
all of the song titles in there..) which usually retails at £10.00.
Mad Martins was initially conceived by Poet and Narrator Keith Armstrong and
is led and coordinated by Musical Director and Songwriter Gary Miller.
The CDs & Book
Mad Martins is available as an epic 50-track triple CD by Gary Miller with
Keith Armstrong, Iain Petrie & Friends, housed in a lavishly-packaged 104-page
Deluxe Book designed by Helen Temperley containing lyrics to all the songs,

beautiful images, including paintings, engravings, sketches, illustrations, and
original artwork, further enhancing the story."
