A beginner's practice shakuhachi. Narrower bore in the key of Eb.
For meditation and contemplation. The bamboo is cut higher up on the
stalk which makes it easier to work with and cheaper to purchase but
with fewer sound subtleties than the traditional root end shakuhachi.
I gave it a urushi coating to add character and for aesthetic value.
The bore is coated with sesame oil which I recommend from time to time.
Instruction book included.
After attaining a satisfactory level of proficiency on this type of flute,
the player may choose to upgrade to a more expensive
shakuhachi that has a greater range of sound possibilities.
